I am back and it feels good to be home but I am still rocking back and forth in my head as if I were still on the ship! Well, I suppose I have always been a little rocky in my head but this does feel strange. I was told I had port sickness. Besides the strange feeling I am having I had a wonderful time. We flew to Vancouver and boarded the ship and headed into the Inside Passage of Alaska. This was my second time visiting Alaska. I went 12 years ago with my Mother. I thought of her quite a bit on this cruise, I did shed a few tears but then again I know she would want me to enjoy myself and not mourn her the entire time.
I definitely kept myself busy. Our first stop was in Junea. We took a helicopter to Mendenhall Glacier and got out with all the gear on and went treking on the ice. It was magnificent.
The next day we sailed through Glacier Bay and we had a spectacular show when the ice calved off and splashed into the ice cold water.
Our next stop was Skagway. We took a train to the top of the mountains and kayaked on a glass-like lake and then rode the White Pass train all the way down. The views were spectacular.
On our last stop we cruised on a small ship to the Misty Fijords of Ketchikan and met the nicest Alaskan native who told us all about her people.
On the way back we the cruise ship crossed a pod of over 80 killer whales. That was such a sight. There were dorsal fins as far as the eye could see.
I am a huge ocean and wildlife nature lover so I was as happy as a clam. I can’t wait to go again. I took so many photos and took some kinky videos in our cabin to share with you on the site. They should all be up soon and I can describe it all in detail then. I have over 2,000 e-mails to take care of now and a business to run so I have to go now. I’ll check in with you later.
